Help My Grandma Day Contest Results
Contest Description
The Help My Grandma Day contest comes out of the idea that when we interact with older adults everybody benefits. By encouraging acts of intergenerational service delivered with respect and care, we can make our community a better place to live.
This fall we asked younger people to pick a day to help an older adult or have an older adult help them and document it with a video. The first round of judging was completed by approximately 40 seniors at the S.A.G.E, Surrey Aboriginal Group of Elders Society and the 411 Seniors Centre. The final winners were selected by Drs. Moreno and Schiphorst.
Submissions
Over 400 students from British Columbia signed up for this contest and a total of 15 videos were submitted. You can watch all of the video entries from this years contest and view the pictures from the awards ceremony here .
